Gencarelli's Cucina is well known for preparing traditional Southern Italian recipes. Debbie and Nicole Gencarelli, Mother and Daughter, opened their doors in November 2007 and were welcomed into the community by many anxious patrons who were already familiar with the quality that has been associated with the Gencarelli name. Debbie is responsible for the authentic family recipes like the Sunday gravy with meatballs. In addition to running the front of the house, Nicole, has used her talent as an Interior Designer to create a space of warmth in a trendy atmosphere that reflects both generations. |
Gencarelli's focus has always been to ensure our patrons a quality dining experience that reflects traditional Italian hospitality in a warm environment. Patrons can sample traditional family recipes coupled with creative European cuisine prepared by our Executive Chef, Marcell Veiga, a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Marcell has years of experience both in Florida and New Jersey and is well known for creating exceptional Italian and French dishes. He was recently chosen to appear on an upcoming episode of Iron Chef America which will be aired on the Food Network, July 26, 2009.
Gencarelli’s Cucina, was a winner of the 2008 Taste of Essex Chef’s Competition for Best Entrée after being open for just 3 months . We have earned recognition from critics and patrons alike as an Italian restaurant of choice in Montclair. Our patrons have truly become extended family and we look forward to continuing to offer quality and creativity in our cuisine. Come to our family table to taste and feel the difference that has made us unique. Gencarelli's Cucina is open Tuesday through Sunday for Lunch, Dinner, Catering and Private parties up to 60 people. We offer Al Fresco dining on our outdoor patio in the Spring and Summer.
